Library use linked to good grades

Research at University of Huddersfield has shown that there could be a strong correlation between library use and good grades.  Read the report at http://bit.ly/rC3qrp

  1. There are some interesting data here – but the data they report suggest a weak correlation between library use and grades. You can see this in Figure 1 – where there is huge variability within groups. The size of the correlation depends on that variability (with the correlation being smaller when variability is larger). A more interesting approach would be to model the probability of a degree classification dependent on other factors such as library use as just looking for correlation doesn’t really focus on the practical impact of any association.
